It was an incredibly spiritual experience to visit the remote Te Urewera Rainforest & Whakatau Rainforest Retreat, deep in the heart of Tūhoe country in the North Island of Aotearoa and to learn more about the Māori concept of Kaitiakitanga (Guardianship), of respecting and protecting the land, the water, and the sea - something in this global time of change we all need.
