Founder & Director/Producer Sharron Ward is a multi award-winning independent film-maker, a former Television Commercials/Promo Director and a Director/Producer of music, arts, entertainment and documentary programmes in the UK and New Zealand for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV, MTV Europe and VH1 UK amongst others. She was born in Gisborne, New Zealand home of the many Maori tribes (iwi) of the Turanganui A Kiwa, and grew up around “Middle Earth,” amongst the famous film locations of Central Otago, in the South Island. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts in Philosophy from the University of Otago. She freelanced in the vibrant New Zealand film industry as an Art Director, Stylist, Props Buyer and Standby Props working on numerous feature films, short films, TV drama, serials and documentaries, as well as Directing TV commercials and pop promos. She moved permanently to London in 1998. She has made a number of short experimental art films, all of which have exhibited internationally, and having researched and filmed her own observational documentaries, continues to experiment with conventional documentary mediums. Her previous projects include Producing the multi-award winning feature-length observational documentary Addicted in Afghanistan and winning an International Emmy for News for her film on Syrian refugee women. Sharron has filmed abroad in New Zealand, Japan, Russia, Thailand, the UK, Egypt, Jordan, Libya, Palestine, Greece, Lebanon, France and most of Europe. She has also worked as a freelance promo producer in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates.
